Stock refinishing is
another area that Devault Industries LLC offers to our customers. This finish is
the same product that is used in our Infinity Shotguns. The finish is an
Automotive clear coat with an epoxy hardener additive.
When your stock arrives we send it to the wood room and begin the stripping
process, next all the dings and dents are sanded out or we raise the grain to
remove the imperfections. Once finish sanding is done the wood goes to the
finish room. The stock will receive 12 to 16 coats of finish to insure the grain
is full and the desired look is achieved.
We do not use any fillers, stains, or sanding fillers to fill the pores of the
wood prior to refinish. You pay good money for your wood and it is a crime to
cover the natural beauty of the grain with a paste filler. Many companies use
the paste filler to fill the pores and in doing that it requires less material
in spray finishing. We use the finish as a filler and when we are done all the
beauty of the natural wood is brought out. We have had customers when they
receive their refinished wood call and ask if we sent the wrong piece of wood
back to them. They tell us that they didn't know the wood had that much grain.
All the stocks are hand sanded and between applications and can be done in a
High Gloss or a Matt finish that resembles oil. Our re-finish process strips out
all the color dies and fillers that were there from the factory. In the
stripping process we remove the stuff that turns yellow and cloudy and makes the
stock appear dull and lackluster.
When the finish work is done the borders of your checkering are re-cut and the
checkering is resealed. If your checkering is worn it can be completely
re-checkered upon request. This service is POR.
Cost
for this re-finish service is
$ 500.00
